Wilco

Wilco was formed by Jeff Tweedy in 1993 after the demise of Uncle Tupelo, quite possibly the most influential band of the 90s alt-country movement.

Wilco is a very interesting band. Their catalog is wide and diverse, and they have opened the door for bands caught in the "twang" of traditional roots rock to expand their musical style. Their 4th album "Yankee Hotel Foxtrot" is perhaps their best display of this kind of influence.

Their music has ranged from country-based jam sessions to a 15-minute long electronic hum, and Jeff Tweedy's witty and deep lyrics have touched all who listen to Wilco.

Throughout their career, Wilco has met many challenges, with all their music, fans, and themselves. They have changed line-ups almost as many times as Oasis (well maybe not that much) but have always surprised their listeners with new and captivating material.

Their latest album, "A Ghost is Born," hit the shelves in June of 2004. It's an excellent record, and lets the listener dream of what will come from this band in the next few years...
