Stellastarr has been described as a mix between The Pixies, and The Cure, Who can go wrong?

Stellastarr* is a fairly new band. They formed in March of 2000, in New York City. After there formation they quickly got to work. One month later in April Stellastarr* created a demo titled, "Fool out of Cancer." It had five songs on it and was recorded by Mod Alien. 80 of these demos were made, and they were sold for five dollars. Tracks on this demo included, Bloated Wife, Homeland, Moongirl, Somewhere Across Forever and Clockwork. Soon after, they got there first gig at Luna Lounge. After that they began to be noticed.

They went on tour with greats such as Joe Strummer, The Strokes, My Morning Jacket, Jane's Addiction and others. They played many gigs, some bad (dive bar in Hoboken) and some good. Stellastarr* was signed on to Tiswas Records. This is where theycreated there first album "Stellastarr*." This album was never released, however in 2003 Stellastarr* was signed onto RCA Records, where they worked on the album for a little then released it.
