The Music Machine's shiny new discs out 10/28 and 10/21
by Nick Giancola posted October 31, 2008
HELLO READER! Once again, my apologies for the belated new releases coverage this week, but here it is: my selections from what the Music Machine dropped on us on both 10/28 and 10/21. We'll start with this week...
WHAT THEY HIT US WITH ON 10 / 28 / 2008
Eagles of Death Metal hit us with their third LP, Heart On. Singer Jesse Hughes comments on the new album: "[it's our] latest fabulous weapon, a top-secret music missile, a sonic warhead sexually tipped for her pleasure, shot from the deck of USS EODM Mantastic Fantastic."

The 13th album from The Cure is out today. This one's titled 4:13 Dream.

Deerhunter have something new this week, Microcastle. An extensive North American tour starts on Halloween.

Electronic musician Squarepusher (aka Tom Jenkinson) releases his 12th, Just A Souvenir.

Bloc Party is back with Intimate.

There's Me and There's You by the Matthew Herbert Big Band.

A new self-titled disc from Fear Before (formerly Fear Before the March of Flames).

Dark Developments by Vic Chesnutt and Elf Power. Take a listen: "And How" mp3.

The UK's Hadouken! are releasing their debut Music For An Accelerated Culture in the US this week without any help from a record label.

Snow Patrol's fifth album, A Hundred Million Suns.

Cardinology by Ryan Adams & the Cardinals.

Off With Their Heads by Kaiser Chiefs.

Last, and certainly least, Pink released something new this week. This latest work of art is called Funhouse...........
STEP SLIGHTLY INTO THE PAST: 10 / 21 / 2008
Of Montreal's ninth album (and fourth for Polyvinyl Records), Skeletal Lamping came out last week.

Car Alarm by the Sea and Cake, out on Thrill Jockey.

Also from the Thrill Jockey label last week: Pit Er Pat release High Time.

Kin to legendary country musician Hank Williams, Hank Williams III released Damn Right, Rebel Proud.

Frightened Rabbit have a new live album out: Liver! Lung! FR!. Want to actually see these guys live? Their tour is coming to an end but dates in California, Arizona and Texas remain.

Grammy-award-winning Colombian artist Aterciopelados released their latest studio album, simply titled Rio.

Historic jazz label Verve re-released 1955's Stan Getz In Stockholm.

Nicely juxtaposed with this classic Getz reissue, Verve also put out something new from Berlin-based DJ collective Jazzanova this week. This one is titled Of All the Things.

Drum'n'bass DJs ph10 released Well Connected. Listen: "Enter The Underground" mp3.

Ex-DFA 1979 member Sebastien Grainger's debut LP Sebastien Grainger & the Mountains is out on Saddle Creek.

Dangerbird Records released the fourth LP from Canadian group the Dears, titled Missiles.

Flashy by Electric Six.

Saint Dymphna by NYC-based Gang Gang Dance.
