For the week beginning May 26th, 2008
» Kurt Cobain's ashes have been
stolen from his lover
Courtney Love, who kept them in a pink teddy-bear shaped bag along with a lock of his hair. These ashes, which were the only ones not dispersed in Washington State or at a New York Buddhist temple, were stolen from Love's house along with clothes and some jewelry. Love said that she was in the habit of carrying them around with her wherever she went, and is now feeling "suicidal" in their absence.

Paul McCartney were awarded honorary degrees this week. Bono's hard work with the world, aids, and other things somehow
paid off in a Doctorate Degree of Law from the Japanese Keio University. Paul McCartney won a Ph.D. from Yale,
for doing only other things.
» Universal Music Group has its masters
safe after
the fire at their studios. Their masters have already been digitized, which covered for some masters which hadn't yet been moved to another site, and for those which didn't have physical duplicates off site.
» A little less than a month ago,
we learned that
Prince played Beatles covers and a version of
Radiohead's "Creep" during his performance at Coachella. Well, a video of that ended up on YouTube and is now in the middle of a little quibble between the song's composers, Radiohead, and the song's performer, Prince. People who filmed it at Coachella went off and posted it on YouTube, and after a while, Prince's label NPG asked for the videos to be taken down. It's still up in the air.
