In the Footsteps of Ummagumma: This month's most outrageous, absurd and unexplainable album titles (April)
by Brett Bertucio posted April 3, 2008
Mariah Carey – E=MC2 – I would love to be a fly on the wall at the meeting where this was suggested. Record Exec #1 – "This is an intelligent record, so let's put something intelligent on it." Record Exec #2 – "Yeah, like E=MC2, that's about science, right?" (due out April 11th)

Atmosphere – When Life Gives You Lemons, You Paint that Shit Gold – Awesome. I applaud any band with the balls to take a key insight from a "profound" 2 a.m. bar conversation and slap it on a record. (April 22nd)

Elvis Costello – Momofuku – Several suggestions are circulating on the internet as to the origin of the title. It could be named after one of Costello's favorite NYC restaurants, the inventor of Ramen, or a Japanese word meaning "lucky peach." A better translation might be "just plain weird." (April 22nd)

Whitesnake – Good To Be Bad – Could Whitesnake have described their appeal and relevance any better? A shockingly honest and accurate bit of introspection, especially from a band whose biggest single originally contained the words "Like a hobo I was born to walk alone." Then again, the title could be just another in a long line of innuendos. (April 15th)
