In the Footsteps of Ummagumma: This month's most outrageous, absurd and unexplainable album titles (February)
by Brett Bertucio posted February 8, 2008
Pink FloydUmmagumma – It only seems fitting that the first installment of this series should fall on a month when its namesake was scheduled for re-release (for whatever reason, MFSL scrapped the project). We can only guess at the origin of this strange title for an even stranger album, but if fictitious animal noises can make it onto a record from one of the biggest bands of all time, what can't be used as an album title?

British Sea PowerDo You Like Rock Music? - Yes? Is that good? What should I do? Listen to rock music? Buy this album? I would venture that there has been no album title more interrogative (and no album whose enjoyment hinges so much on an affirmative response to the title) since Hendrix's Are You Experienced? (due out Feb 12th)

Lenny KravitzIt is Time for a Love Revolution – YES! What a title! It's at the same time a proclamation, a demand, and an utterly ridiculous album title. Soon Lenny will be wearing green skeleton t-shirts and emerging on stage in a cocoon. I'm a firm believer that rock is at its best when it doesn't take itself too seriously. Well done Mr. Kravitz. (Feb 5th)

Atlas Sound - Let the Blind Lead Those Who Can See But Cannot Feel – Since when do I go to the record store looking for epistemology? If we really journey by touch, why is Atlas Sound making music? It looks like somebody needs to remember the AC/DC Golden Rule of Rock: When in doubt, make it stupid (see Kravitz, Lenny). (Feb 19th)
