Hot Chip's Coming on Strong is a new level of pop. With its zealous synths, backbeats, and curious lyrics, this record needs to be danced to.

Unfortunately, I found that this album was a bit samey. I mean, I found it new wave and funky, but all in all it wasn't enough for me. This album isn't something that I could just listen to on my headphones coming home on the Number Two Bus. It's really club music-I even found my foot tapping on some songs without even knowing it.

The compositions aren't extremely difficult-some are rather bland. I was ready for the build-up with some drums, an explosion of musical intruments, but sadly that wasn't the case. This album is very simple, well…party music.

I did like this record, but Hot Chip really could have gone farther in some of their songs. "Down With Prince" was the only song that I was really into. Coming on Strong has some great lyrics and is a good base for what I hope will come from this band. I expect some good things. Steady on Hot Chip, get people moving.
